Hi,
When somebody registers to an event, the email receipt shows all the format coding as text. This has been an ongoing issue that I posted before and do not know how to fix it. Looking at the PHP Interpreter from the host it shows that the default is 5.6. I don’t know if that helps. It looks like the issue started sometime during last summer.

Hi,
You’ll actually need to get PHPMailer upgraded to version 6. The PHP “interpreter” version, as you call it, is another thing. As an aside, the PHP version should really be updated to at least version 7 because PHP 5.6 has reached end of life and is no longer getting security patches.

and how do I upgrade the PHPmailer?

Unless you’re running a dedicated server, you wouldn’t do the upgrade. Instead, you contact your web host (or server administrator) and ask them to update PHPMailer to version 6.
If they cannot update PHPMailer to version 6, another option would be to use a transactional email service. We’ve provided a number of recommendations here:

HI,
I installed the WP Mail SMTP plugin and I am using SendGrid as the mailer. That helped a little, now the email don’t show html coding. However, the format of the email still has some issues. See the image. could the default messages be corrupted? thanks!

Hi there,
It looks like you are viewing the emails in outlook, which version?
Unfortunately, the image shown is about as good as the templates get when rendered in outlook.
