Will I receive an email when there is a pending payment for a event registrant? Currently, I am receiving an email confirmation when a person pays online, but I am not receiving it when a person is registering only without payment.

Hi, could you login to your WP dashboard and go to Event Espresso –> Messages?

Then look for the Registration Pending Payment message type:

A blue link for the event admin means that recipient is enabled. If you click on it, then it will take you to the messages editor for the registrations pending payment message type for the event admin.

If the TO field is empty, then add this shortcode and save changes:

[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]

All of that is there…but the email address in the general settings Event Espresso tab hasn’t received that email.

In the general settings of the WP dashboard, my personal email address has been entered in the field as I am the web master. Does this email address need to be the same as the one in the general settings in the Event Espresso tab.

Hi,

By default the Event Admin emails will be sent to the email address of the User account that created the Event, the event author. That’s is what the shortcode Lorenzo provided parses to.

If you want the emails to go to the Primary Contact Email (Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Your Organisation) then you’ll need to change the Event Admin contexts to use the [CO_EMAIL] or [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] within the To fields.

Does that help?

Unfortunately none of this is working…the event manager would like to receive emails when a person officially pays and when a person register. Is it possible there’s another setting somewhere that’s not making this work. Please advise.

The emails are tirggered when the user finalizes the registration, which is basically when they reach the thank you page. To do that they need a payment gateway to chose so they can finalize.

Do you have an offline payment method active (such as Invoice) or only online payment methods?

Are you using any 3rd party email services/plugins, such as Mandill?

I do have the offline payment method active. A registrant for the conference has the option to pay via PayPal or download an invoice and make payment using a check via snail mail.

I’ve just ran a test registration on the site linked to your support license.

I received a Pending Payment email, did yourself/the event manager?

Here’s a screenshot of what I am receiving at the web developer. The from email address should be receiving this email rather than my email address juliusrainey (at) gmail (dot) com,

Hi, I saw your note about being a web developer. In this case you would be helping your client setup Event Espresso 4.

If your client created an event, then they would receive the event admin notification for registration pending payment. This is because they are considered to be the event author.

If you created an event, then you would receive the email notification.

Could you clarify?

@Tony I didn’t receive anything yet. What name did you use?

@lorenzo I setup the event so I am the author. So what’s the workaround for him to receive it as the event organizer?

Hi, there are two options.

1) If your client has a team that will be assisting with events, then you could edit any events that you created and set your client to be the event author and save changes. This can be done via the event editor and is similar to reassigning a page or post author.

2) If you think the client will be primarily handling events. For example, your client is a solo event author, then you can change the event author shortcode in the registration pending payment message type to this one and save changes:

[CO_EMAIL]

I have done solution #1…and I am checking with the event manager now to check his email. Give me a moment.
