Email Addresses Stuck in the Messages area

Hello,

I am running into a really strange bug where when I put email addresses into the “Extra Actions” area, no matter what I do I can’t delete them. Whenever I delete them and update the page, it sticks with the ones I put in at first. When I added info to another field on that page (the main “To” field) it will update when I delete it, so I know it is updating in general, just not updating from the “Extra Actions” fields. Any thoughts?

When I click “Reset Templates” it still leaves the email addresses in there as well. Nothing will seem to pull it off.

I have deactivated and reactivated the plugin, I have logged out of WordPress and logged in again, neither helped. This is a bit of an issue because I can’t activate my events until this is solved.

I deactivated all my plugins, and switched to Twenty Fourteen, and it didn’t fix it. I put a lot of work into the events themselves, but I guess I wlll have to completely reinstall the plugin.

I deleted the plugin on a staging site where I cloned my live copy, then I re-installed it fresh and it still had the same emails in the Extra Actions fields. The only thing that has worked for me was to delete the tables manually from the database and then go with a clean install, but that was on a staging site. I put a lot of work into the event pages themselves and don’t want to have to start from scratch. Can you think of anything that it would involve. If you would like a user name and password to see it on a staging site I could provide that privately.
If you would like those credentials please send a request to tim@timmorrisdesign.com, I am the developer for my client, Karl.

Hi Tim,

That area doesn’t affect where the emails are sent. It is used for testing the emails and it remembers the last email that is used.

For example, if you entered a new email and click on the button to test the email, then that new email would appear there by default:

The field that handles where the emails are sent would be the TO field which appears here:

Ok, that helps. Perhaps it might help to put a little note below it to say that as that seems like unusual field behavior. Glad I don’t need to do anything else! Thanks!

Hi Karl,

Thank you for the feedback.

I have created a ticket to clarify what that section is for, I think simply changing ‘To’ to ‘Send test email to’ or similar would help clarify this.

Would that work?
