Everytime I am trying to save this particular setting, I am getting a 404. Strange thing is that all other pages are fine. So much so that on the ‘General Setting’ page too, all other tabs except the ‘Your Organization’ are working just fine.
Can someone help me please?

I am really hoping that someone from the tech support will come forward and help me since this is a serious issue with my site. I just bought the plugin a week ago and it is giving errors which is beyond understanding for me and the server guys too.

I really love the plugin and would appreciate any help that I can get on this. Anyone?

Hi,

That’s quite odd. Have you done a plugin conflict troubleshoot, by disabling all the other plugins and testing the save? If it works with the plugins disabled, it is likely some sort of conflict between EE and another plugin. By activating the plugins one by one, testing the save each time you can determine which plugins causing it.

If it still fails to work with all the other plugins deactivated, then please advise us.

Hi,

“I am really hoping that someone from the tech support will come forward and help me since this is a serious issue with my site.”

We do our best to get to forum support threads within 48 hours, often we jump on them within a few hours.

Regarding your issue:

Can you go to the page and then copy and paste the URL here please? There must be a simple explanation why only that page is 404’ing.

Another option is that it could in theory be a conflict with another plugin. Can you test by disabling all plugins except EE and testing the page and letting us know if the issue persists at that point.

Hey Dean,

I am so glad you came forward t help me. Here’s the link to the 404 page – https://www.tickethungama.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_general_settings

I even tried disabling all the plugins and enabling them one by one. I also disabled Event Espresso and enabled it hoping it might trigger off the solution but to no avail.

Please advice.

Hi,

Does this also occur with a default WordPress theme and only Event Espresso running?

What permalink settings are you using on your site?

Yes, I even tried switching themes but it still gives the same result. Here’s the permalink that I am using: https://www.tickethungama.com/postname

It was working all fine till 4 days ago with the same permalink.

Do you recall any recent changes to the site or server around this time?

Could you try reinstalling the software?

You can download a new copy of EE4 from your account page:

Will I lose all the events I have created if I reinstall?

Ok, Here’s what I did – deactivated Event Espresso and then deleted it. Then I downloaded the plugin from my account and reinstalled. But I guess it wasn’t deleted properly since I could see all my old settings, including the earlier events already being there after the reinstall. How can I do a complete clean up and reinstall?

Now for the problem, it is still giving the same error to me.

Hi Dean,

I did try by disabling all the plugins but unfortunately it doesn’t work.

Hi, those are the steps that I would have completed as well.

There is a reset option but that will remove your events. You would need to create these events again and setup Event Espresso again.

Can you remember any other changes to the site or server from 4 days ago?

Hey Lorenzo, I did install few plugins in last 4 days, but I do not know when was this problem got triggered – in last 4 days or before that because I did not need to update any info in my company information after I installed it for the first time. 3 days ago, when I tried to update our new logo is when I noticed this error.

However, I have deleted all the plugins that I installed in last 4-5 days.

One major change that we did was – install a SSL certificate on our server. Can that be the reason?

Could you share a temporary login through the link below so we can take a look at the site?

Ok, so finally I figured out what was causing it! It was silly, but it did the trick! While diagnosing the problem, I was adding / deleting everything on the page one by one and figured out that whenever there was a link to Instagram, it was giving the error, but when I removed it, it just solved on its own. In order to be doubly sure, I put it back on and the problem started again.

Just sharing so that others can get benefited.
