I just updated to the latest version of WordPress, and I am on the latest version of EE4 and the back end admin panel of EE4 is all out of wack. I can’t seem to find any information in the forum, so I figured I would see if anyone else had run into this issue and what the steps for resolution were.

Hi there,

Can you add a screenshot that shows what you mean by out of wack please, if its what I suspect it is it will either be a theme conflict or an issue with another plugin as there are no known issues with EE4 and the latest version of WordPress.

I have checked for plugin and theme conflicts as well…

May I ask what you did to check for conflicts?

the issues on your screenshots are usually from something loading additional assets when it shouldn’t be, if you open up Chrome Dev Tools on say the event editor, do you see any errors in the Console section?

That may not be related, but the #eg-vimeo-ratio are definitely not from Event Espresso and so could be causing the conflict.

May I ask what you did to check for conflicts?

To confirm if it’s a conflict you can install the WP Health Check plugin, then enable troubleshooting mode in Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting -> Enable Troubleshooting Mode.

That will de-activate all plugins and switch to a default theme (only for you, the logged in administrator).

In the admin bar, go to Troubleshooting Mode -> Manage active plugins.

Enable Event Espresso and check the editor, does it look correct then?

(Note to disable Troubleshooting mode again go to the admin bard -> Troubleshooting Mode -> Disable Troubleshooting Mode)

plugins and theme both tested with issue still persisting. Health checker showed php needed upgrading, and that didn’t fix anything either.

Editor still has issue…

Hi,

It’s not clear what you mean by “plugins and theme both tested”. If you meant to write “I switched to the twentytwenty theme and deactivated all plugins except Event Espresso”, then that would rule out a theme/plugin conflict.

One possible cause to the issue you’re seeing could be related to mixing content loading from http and https. I checked and the front end of the site has errors like these:

> Loading mixed (insecure) display content “wp-content/themes/jimh/assets/images/main-pattern.png” on a secure page
theranchfortmyers.com
> Request to access cookie or storage on “” was blocked because it came from a tracker and content blocking is enabled.

If you’ve ruled out a theme/plugin conflict you could try reinstalling Event Espresso 4, where you download the latest version of the plugin files from your account page.

You could also contact your host and ask them what they recommend to ensure all content loads as https so you’ll avoid the mismatch of http and https content.

Hi there,

We have received your support token request and replied directly via email.

Just in case you haven’t received the reply we’ll need to view the theme’s files to investigate but the FTP credentials provided only give us access to an empty directory, can you update that user account so it has access to the root directory of the site, please?
