EE4 Update confusion

Wordpress 3.9.2
EE 4.3.0
just upgraded
http://socagalleria.com/?page_id=13

I’m a bit confused and a little concerned about what just happened to my site. I saw that there was an update available through my plugin dashboard, and I decided to update. Thinking this was a 1 button update, upon seeing errors I then proceeded to the support forum site that says you must update the calendar first, must update PHP, must do before upgrading core? So at this point, my calendar is crashed and events lost? Can I downgrade? reinstall?

Me too. Can I go back to the previous version?

Sorry for the confusion. You may have to update the calendar manually, as outlined in this post:

Right. These instructions are for before the upgrade. Is it o.k. to complete this after the upgrade? I don’t want to “break it” any further.

Yes, it should be fine.

Installing the calendar gives me this error:

You will need to remove the currently installed calendar first, then download the latest version from within your EE account, then upload and install the latest version using the WordPress plugin admin.

I ended up removing both old and new calendars, then installing the newer one again. Calender is working fully again. Thank you for your assistance and quick replies. It is greatly appreciated and valued.

Best,

E. Alexander

I am trying to update EE4 to 4.3.using Safari. I did the download, I recompressed the file. Now what?? I don’t seem to be have any way to activate the zipped file.
I can find no “update” button like in the other plugins.
What am I missing?
