EE4 ticket delivery options

Hello, I am playing around with EE4 and would like to know if there is a way to add a shipping option for the tickets. My client wants customers to pay for the tickets online but to pick up a physical ticket at the event arena 1-2 hours before the event, but he also wants them to have the option of having the tickets mailed to them for a small fee of $3.95 or so. Is there an option in EE4 that allows me to do this? I noticed there is a price modifier option, but noticed that it cannot be made optional.

Hi there,

This is possible by setting up two tickets that grant access to the same datetime. You set the prices the same, but add the 3.95 surcharge to only one of the tickets. Then when someone goes to select the ticket, they can select either ticket option.

If there are 2000 seats available are you suggesting 1000 tickets with the 3.95 surcharge and 1000 tickets without? Or 2000 tickets with the 3.95 surcharge and 2000 tickets without, and is there a setting for it to max out at 2000 sold so we don’t oversell?

Here is an example of what I would like to replicate if possible:

I like that it has all the ticket selection options and then below that it has “Ticket Delivery Options” with the option for USPS ordinary mail and Certified mail, and if one is selected, it adds a small fee to the overall purchase. Is this possible? Or would I need to hire a developer (which I hope is not too expensive)? Anyway, I would also appreciate an answer to my previous post of July 2, 2015 8:12pm if possible.

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, two tickets, one with the charge and one without. You would stop over selling by setting the tickets to each have a quantity 1000 AND the datetime to limit to 1000, meaning that once the datetime limit is met it will close the event down.

Currently there isn’t a way to do it like the example you provided. This sort of feature may come available in the future. It might be possible to custom develop, but it would likely run into the hundreds of dollars at the very least to get a functional system (basing on an average developer cost of $65+ an hour). You could get in touch with some of the recommended developers and see what they say: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/
