EE4: Some registrations are pending but paypal payment confirmation received

I was checking a client’s install and came across four pending registrations for their event. In all cases it shows an incomplete transaction but when I asked about these I was forwarded successful PayPal payment notifications for each of the orders. I’m not sure why EE isn’t recording these as successful.

There are successful registrations on the same day or on subsequent days so I can’t identify the reason. What can I check in this instance to ensure the registrations are correctly recorded?

Also, do any of your events have apostrophes in the tickets or event name?

Hi

Why would some registrations work and others not? They are all for the same event and it’s just a handful. An apostrophe appears only in the venue name.

Ok, I added enabled IPN and added the /transactions url to the paypal settings.

Have these issues arisen because the customer hasn’t returned to the site after paying?

Hi,

The IPN updates the payment information in the background. This covers cases where a registrant/attendee clicks away from PayPal.com after paying instead of allowing it to return to your site to view the thank you page.

Hi Sarah,

It’s likely that the cause of issue you were seeing was because the PayPal IPN had not been enabled yet.
