EE4 Mobile App Conflict with WP Mail Logging Plugin

Hello,

We were getting the EE4 Mobile App Message: “Connection Error. Unable to Load Data” error again (see the ‘EE4 Mobile App Conflicts with Yoast SEO’ post submitted some time ago https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee4-mobile-app-conflicts-with-yoast-seo-plugin/) and seem to have traced it to a second conflict with WP Mail Logging. We had that plugin turned off for some time because of a different issue on the site, but turned it on again recently to do some testing.

For now, we’re just turning off the WP Mail Logging plugin, but figured that it would be helpful to advise here.

We’re now running:
WP 4.8
Event Espresso 4.9.43
WP Mail Logging 1.8.1 (now deactivated)
Event Espresso mobile app version 2.26

We may have more to report here… one of our testers was getting a different error on an Apple/IOS phone (the two of us getting the error reported here are on Android phones.)

Hi there,

We actually have both of those plugins installed and activated on our testing site and the mobile apps will function correctly with those other plugins activated.

One thing to look out for is the WP_DEBUG constant, you’ll need to make sure that it’s set to FALSE when you using the apps.

Hey Josh,

Thanks for the advice. I just checked to make sure – WP_DEBUG is already set to FALSE in our wp-config.php.

There must be some other variable that’s causing the underlying plugin conflict. For now as mentioned we have both the suspect plugins turned off but it would be great if we can resolve this at some point.

Have you tried adding the directive to your .htaccess file that’s outlined in the troubleshooting documentation?
