This is for the default “Registration Approved” e-mail that goes to Event Admins.

Note: I have removed the default list completely.
However, in the actual e-mails, the question is not bold (happens regardless of whether I use <strong> or <b>) and the question and answer are still on separate lines rather than being on the same line. I started by wrapping both in <p></p> tags, but looks as if there is some kind of filtering happening in the shortcode.
Is there an option or workaround for this or do I need to dive into the shortcodes and overwrite?

May I ask which version of Event Espresso is activated on your site? The reason I ask is because there have been some changes to the output of the Question List in a recent version.

4.9.38.p; we can backup and update if you think that will help.

This was a fix included in the 4.9.39.p release:
Fix the messages [QUESTION] shortcode value returned now being wrapped in <p> tags
So updating will help in this case.
