Hi,
I searched this topic but could not find anything useful. I am trying to install EE4 but for a failure message:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: event-espresso-core-reg.zip
Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Could not create directory. /var/www/vhosts/ip-97-74-206-121.ip.secureserver.net/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg2/

Plugin install failed.

I also tried to remove the “free” version in case deactivating would not be enough and I can’t remove it at all (I tried deactivating all plugins first as well amd also tried to removed the file directly from my web server but could not delete those files). Please help.

Hi Marie-Laure,

It sounds like WordPress does not have the correct file permissions. Can you contact your host to check into this.

Did you try logging in with FTP and try removing the folder there as well? If so, this is something you’ll need to ask your host for help with.

Hi,
Thanks for the speedy response. I’ll check with both. Surprising since I have installed and deleted other files since I’ve had access. I’ll confirm if I was able to find a fix.

Hi Marie,

Yes. Please let us know whether this resolves your issue or not.

Hi, we fixed the permission problem but are runnign into lots of issues when we use shortcodes. I had to remove the add-on we purchased for now (Event Table). I want to use your tool but for now it has not been a breeze. I will search the knowledge base ot see if that’s a know issue and if not, will start a new thread with more details.

I should add, I am ready to downgrade to EE3 if needed.

Hi Marie-Laure,

If you can let me copy the shortcodes that you’re having trouble with here, and let me know what’s going wrong I can help you get those sorted out.
