EE4 Events Grid View Template EE4 – Display Filters

Good Afternoon,

I would like to inquire as to the functionality of the EE4 Events Grid View Template. My calendar of events goes out for approximately 3 years into the future, and it would be ideal to display using all of the following filters (not all at the same time…):

1. By year. I would like to be able to provide the shortcode a parameter for the year that I would like events displayed. For example display all events for the year 2016
2. By quarter…or by date range thus allowing me to determine my own “quarter.” For example I would like to display all events for Q2 2016…or I could simply provide a date range to the shortcode as a parameter.
3. By season…again this could be accomplished through date range above…and I wouldn’t necessarily have to have a “season” selection.

Thanks,
TIm

Hi Tim, the events grid view template does not currently have a parameter for showing events for a specific year or a date range selector.

For a workaround, you could add an events category called “Events in 2015” and then add events for this year to that events category. You could then do something similar for other years.

The parameters that are available are below:

order_by=”false” (order events by start date instead of title; enable by setting to start_date)
sort=”ASC” (set the sort order such as ASC (ascending) or DESC (descending); must be used with order_by parameter)
limit=”false” (set a numeric limit on the number of events to show (e.g. 15))
show_expired=”false” (set to true to include expired events)
month=”false” (show events for a specific month)
category_slug=”false” (retrieve events from a certain category, using the category slug)

More information on the parameters above and examples are available here:
