I am using EE4 to for event registrations and it is going really well. There is however one area that still leaves a lot to be desired.
Basically the date picker for date fields doesn’t respect any localisation (this isn’t new: https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee4-date-picker-localisation/) and despite a bit of help text, people still format the dates inconsistently.
My question is simply whether there is any neat way to simply disable direct text entry in the field and force people to use the date picker. This would guarantee consistency without requiring extra validation and/or suggestions that people format the date in any particular way.

Hello Stephen,
We have an open ticket for your request. We’ll try to get it fixed asap.
One suggestion may be to use jQuery to disable the date picker field, but only allow the datepicker to modify the contents.

I wanted to let you know that this is now available in the current version of Event Espresso 4 for the datepicker in the event editor.
First, please backup your WordPress site. Then upgrade to the latest version of Event Espresso 4.
