EE4 – Custom Questions & Email Verification

Hi,

I have been using EE3 for a large annual event for the past 2 years and it has worked very well. With a few workarounds in place to help get round some issues we have been very happy with it.

We are considering switching to EE4 but just need to confirm the following first.

Can the Custom Questions be assigned to a ticket type? In EE3 the same custom questions have to be applied to the event and the same for every attendee. We have tickets to adults and children and need to ask them both different questions, not the same.

Having worked in customer service for online ticket sales and assessing all the email support requests we have had over the past 2 years the biggest issue is people entering their email addresses wrong then complaining they do not receive confirmation emails or their tickets. Yes it is their error in the first instance however, it still generates queries and action on our part taking up valuable resources. Is it possible to implement a simple additional field so they have to enter their email address twice to make it match. This then all but eliminates the inconvenience for customers even although their fault and the substantial resources required to deal with such queries.

If EE4 does not offer such features then I think we will stick with EE3 for the time being.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Frank, questions via question groups are currently assigned on a per-event basis.

We do have an open enhancement for an email question type. That would help with typos on emails.

Update:

Double email field verification has been added in version 4.10.5.p. To activate this feature on your site, you can go to edit the Person Information question group in Event Espresso > Registration Form, then check the box next to “Confirm Email Address”. Then click Save.
