I can see the CSS inside of the sent email however Outlook 2010 is not utilizing this CSS. This is with all of EE4 default templates.

Hi James,

It turns out that Microsoft didn’t intend Outlook 2010 to support CSS layouts.

You can read more about this here:

http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Windows/Microsoft-Responds-to-Outlook-2010-HTML-Controversy-298069/

If you decide that full support for outlook 2010 is important then you can customize the templates for outlook by directly editing the html used in the message template editor ( by adding inline styles, use compatible html, etc).

There’s a good comparison chart that shows what’s available to use in the most popular email clients here:

http://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/

and some general advice on using html tables with no CSS for outlook here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8310609/css-styling-wont-work-in-outlook-2010

The downside to making emails look nice in outlook is they will not likely look as nice in all the other email clients. Event Espresso’s default templates were designed to look nice in the majority of the email clients that do support CSS.
