I just installed the calendar and use EE4 and the Simplicity theme.
I downloaded and activated the calendar, then I set the settings and then . . . NOTHING!

The calendar does not show up on my website. Am I missing a step?

Please, PLEASE …PRETTY PLEASE … can anyone walk me through the steps on how to get this calendar going?

Thanks . . . E.

Hi
I deactivated all plugins but the calendar still doesn’t show up. Any tips?

Thanks . . . Erika.

Hi Erika, Did you create a new page with the relevant shortcodes?
You can find the shortcodes by going to: Event Espresso -> Calendar -> Calendar Usage

Hope this helps

Thank you for posting @amyngilani 🙂

@Erika looking over your site it looks like you have this figured out, your event calendar page is loading the calendar correctly for me, or are you wanting the calendar in another location?

Just for future readers, for the calendar to display you need to add the [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] shortcode to the site, usually within a page.

THANK YOU, amyngilani! That was the missing step. It sure was easy enough once you know what you are supposed to do – LOL!

For those of us, who are not experienced website designers and are just learning, it is very important to have all steps included in the instructions. Most things that are totally clear, “a given”, or “intuitive” to an experienced website designer are, however, an unknown to the beginner.

Thank you so very much for having mercy on me and sharing your knowledge.

Have a fabulous day . . . Erika.

Hi Tony
thanks for your reply as well. As you saw the calendar is up and running – thanks to amyngilani!

I am a novice at website design and as I mentioned in my reply to amyngilani, for those of us, who are not experienced website designers and are just learning, it is very important to have all steps included in the instructions. Most things that are totally clear, “a given”, or “intuitive” to an experienced website designer are, however, an unknown to the beginner.
Having written many instructions and SOPs myself, I know how easy it is to omit a tiny step / piece of information; especially when we are very experienced in the topic we are trying to document. It’s common that we kind of go into an “auto-mode” and don’t even realize that we didn’t write out all the steps / information that a NEW user would need. maybe you guys can review and update the instructions on your website to include a bit more detail?

So thanks again for your assistance and smile . . . Erika.
