EE3: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] Showing Expired Events

Hello,

We have the “Events” page with the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode, however using the recurring event manager, it seems that the page is showing expired events (Events where the “End Date” has already passed).

Is this expected behavior, and is there a way to change it if so?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Can you check to see if those events are set to still be open for registration?

They are indeed open. I suppose I was under the impressions that they should automatically switch to Closed or Inactive once the end date of the event has passed, or at least be able to be filtered. (I know that other shortcodes support the “show_expired” tag, which seems to work).

Thanks again for your advice!

*Sorry, which seem to work for other shortcodes. In this case the “ESPRESSO_EVENTS” shortcode doesn’t seem to honor “show_expired”?

Hi Eric,

It turns out that [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] doesn’t accept parameters, and since your events are not really expired they’ll continue to show there until the registration end date has passed. You can get them off that list by changing their registration end date to a date in the past.
