i reviewed ee v 4 this morning and was happy to see the improvements. it feels lighter and easier to manage with some much needed niceties.
i was looking for a dedicated location where i could ask and review ee 4 related topics, but could not find anything. i’d like to simply ask the following…
01. does a ee 4 forum currently exist somewhere?
02. i’m in a state of limbo with my current (first) ee project – i’d rather wait until 4 comes out then proceed with customizing the templates, etc, but my client can only wait for so long. any word on a release? (as if you wouldn’t have told everyone if you knew). i just want to know if it’s going to be 3+ months some time in the coming weeks.
03. against my better judgement i’m thinking about using the beta for my client’s production site – he only needs the basics – although my ee 4 beta doesn’t seem to have the ability to add custom questions. does that sound right?
04. also regarding the beta limitations, there’s no paypal pro payment option available yet. right?

There’s a fair bit of ee 4 discussion on the pre release forum – had a look there? This article may also help. A few other details:

4.0 will be released when the outstanding tickets are completed. Right now the ticket count is 27, 16 of which have a status of “Needs Testing”. 356 tickets have been completed.

This is correct. Custom questions will come in 4.1

I’d expect to see PayPal Pro get ported to 4.1 as well. Update: 4.2.
