EE Importer Error

I use the Importer for batch registrations about once a month. This is the first time it is not working….I go through all the steps. I receive this message:

An error occurred and the job has been stopped. Please refresh the page to try again.

When I refresh, I receive a long message starting with this:

An exception of type RuntimeException occurred while running BatchRunner::create_job()

Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!

Hi there,

We will need the full error message to know what is happening here, can you post it in a private reply?

Hmm, ok, it’s basically saying it can’t open the CSV from your server and that can happen for multiple reasons.

First, try removing the spaces from the filename, just use OneLongFileName to test if that works.

Hmm, so in that case its likely your site doesn’t have the correct permissions to write to /wp-content/

Try adding this to your wp-config.php file:

define('FS_METHOD', 'direct');

Do that somewhere above /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Then test if the above works.

If not you may need to contact your host and have them check the permissions for /wp-content/uploads/espresso/*

I have been importing attendees every month easily, so I’m not sure what changed?

Nothing within the importer has changes for a long time now, we did add some additional ‘type’ checking in the latest version but its not something that would cause the above.

I can send you a previous version to try if you want, but I don’t think it will fix your issue.

What has changed on the site between when this worked last month and now?

I can’t think of anything that has changed with our website since last month.

The only thing left is a change on the host side, right?

I can send you the previous version of both Event Espresso and Importer add-on if you would like to reinstall them and see if they work but I’m not aware of any changes we’ve made to how the .csv files are handled.

I’ll happily investigate further if either of the previous versions work on your site.
