EE4 just isn’t working. I am on the latest install. It is buggy and causing my entire site to crash or load so slowly its unbearable.

If I delete the plugin it all works as normal.

I need this fixed as we are trying to push an event.

Hi Karl,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with Event Espresso.

Is it possible to get some more information please? These are quite wide ranging as I am trying to pinpoint what might be causing the issue.

  • What sort of hosting do you have? (shared, inexpensive hosting, VPS, Dedicated server?).
  • Is the issue/s happening on the front end/admin/both?
  • Is the issue/s specific to a certain area such as event registration, or editing events or by going to specific pages?
  • Are there any error messages appearing?
  • Have you enabled WP DEBUG? (This helps show error messages – https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG)
  • Have you tried to increase your memory allocation via wp-content.php? (https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP)
  • Have you tried disabling all other plugins (temporarily), except EE to see if the issues still occurs with a more barebones site?
  • Have you tried swapping to a default theme (temporarily) to see if that assists?
  • Can you provide a link to the site in question please?

If there’s any other info that you think might be useful, please do let me know.

matthudson.com

I have had to disable it. It makes the whole site unbearable. It was working fine on previous versions of the plugin, just the latest version it is not working with.

I have installed the pre-release download. It seems to be loading.

The issue is now when I go to register on an event it says this Fatal error: Call to a member function slug() on a non-object in /home/matthud/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-pr/modules/single_page_checkout/EED_Single_Page_Checkout.module.php on line 786

Hi Karl, I see that you opened this support post around mid-April and are giving this another try.

Is this happening with the latest release at 4.6.23?

The reason I ask is we have released several maintenance releases since April 15th.
