Editing the Order Confirmation

I need to make changes to the Order Confirmation on the Thank You page. Where can I do this?
1. remove a field listing “UNKNOWN” in address
2. remove VAT/TAX field
3. remove America/Jamaica for date/time
4. change “Please send this invoice with payment attached to the address above, or use the payment link below. Payment must be received within 48 hours of event date.”
5. I want to add text regarding safety and cancellations

Hi Trevor,

This customization will involve a bit of copying a file into a folder structure and editing some html and PHP to get the job done.

Step 1:
FTP into your server and create some new folders within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates

Event Espresso will look for a custom order confirmation template in an alternate location there, but it’s a few folders deep. So within the templates folder you’ll create these folders within themselves:

modules/gateways/Invoice/lib/templates

Once that’s done, your folder path will look like this:

/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/modules/gateways/Invoice/lib/templates

Step 2: Inside that last folder you’ll copy receipt_body.template.php from the Event Espresso plugin folder. You’ll find the template within:

wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/modules/gateways/Invoice/lib/templates

Step 3: Once copied over you can make all the edits to your specifications.

I have updated the plugin and lost the folder location of the Order Confirmation. Where can I find it?

Can I have the Order Confirmation emailed to the attendee automatically?

Hi Trevor,

The order confirmation is sent out automatically after a registration. Could you try a test registration and check your junk/spam mail folder?

No, I am not receiving it in spam/junk either. I tried it on my July 17th test event. http://www.restorationvillagefarm.com/agritourism/tours/

We are receiving notification emails just not the Order Confirmation.

I would like to automatically receive the Order Confirmation which can be downloaded or printed on the Thank you page to myself and the attendee. It’s clear, easier to understand.

Hi Trevor,

When we shared feedback on your question last year, copying over the templates for editing was the recommended way to edit the templates for the Invoice or Receipt.

That has changed as Event Espresso 4 now has an editor to edit those templates through the WP dashboard.

It can be found in Event Espresso –> Messages. You’ll now be viewing the Messages Overview screen. Now look for Invoice or Receipt and click on Purchaser. Here is an example of how they appear on the Messages Overview Screen:

If you do not see them, then you may be using an old version of Event Espresso 4 or they may be on page 2 so you can paginate (browse) to page 2 and they should be there.
