Hi,

I am used to using a combination of promotional codes, volume discounts and Early Bird discounts with EE3 – can you please let me know how much of this functionality has made it in to EE4.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Promotional codes are currently not available within EE4.

Volume Discounts are available, but not in the same way as EE3. You can set minimum quantities for tickets in EE4. So if you want tickets to be cheaper if you buy 4 or more, you create another ticket with the price at the cheaper value, then assign a minimum qty of 4. EE4 will then not allow you to purchase less than 4 of those tickets.

Early Bird discounts also work in a similar way to the above, you can create a ticket that closes on a specific date and have another ticket that will open on that date.

For example look here – http://take.ms/aeLtC

The early bird ticket starts today and stops on the 15th at 12:00pm.

The normal ticket till start on the 15th at 12:00pm until the 21st.

Does that help?

Starting today, current support license holders can opt in to the pre-release channel and download the Event Espresso 4.7 and Promotion add-on pre-releases.

We’d love to get your feedback on some of the new promotion features and changes that we’ve been working on. These include:

  • New interface for managing promocodes
  • Promo code discounts now apply to entire order instead of per ticket
  • Promo code generator
  • Automatic (non-promo-code) discounts
  • Discounts limited by quantity
  • Discounts limited by start date and end date
  • A widget for displaying non-promo-code discounts
  • A shortcode for displaying non-promo-code discounts
Important: The Event Espresso 4 promotions add-on will activate only if Event Espresso 4.7 is active. This means you’ll need to install the Event Espresso 4.7 pre-release before installing the promotions add-on.

If you haven’t already opted into Event Espresso’s pre-release channel, you can go to your account page and check the box to opt in to the pre-release channel. Once you opt in, the download files will be available under the EE4 tab under the Pre Release Downloads heading.

You can find out more information about in the pre-release channel guide.

If you have feedback about Promotions or the 4.7 release, please reply to that Promotions announcement or start another new topic.
