Hello,

As it stands now, based on my testing, if a person add’s to cart multiple events and proceeds to checkout and enters in a “coupon code” it will apply the discount to all events in the purchase, not just the one eligible for discount. I believe I read that if you want to offer coupon codes for events you have to restrict purchases to one event and one registration at a time. Is this correct? Is multiple event/registration with ability to assign promo code to each registration coming in future releases?

Also, is it possible to display the discount amount within the confirmation email? right now it seems like the only amount that can be displayed in the confirmation email is the total cost which includes any discounts and any surcharges. It would be great if there were shortcodes for”
– Original Ticket price
– Discount amount
– Subtotal
-Surcharges
– Total, which is currently call cost

Hi Even,

That doesnt sound right to me. When a promotional code is created and attached, the items in the cart which have had the promo codes turn on and the right promo code selected will be discounted, not everything. An example

Regarding the tags, you are right there is only that one. You could create custom ones but it will involve modifying a core files.

I will add a feature request for future versions.

Ok, so if I make one event eligible for the discount in question and the other not, it will only discount the one eligible is what you are saying. That makes sense, except in the case where if you have a generic code that is eligible to every event but you only want to apply it to one ticket per transaction. What happens in this situation?

I am assuming/hoping that 4.x will have the ability for the user to assign a code to each event registered for as opposed to one promo code for all events in a transaction.

Regardless, you guys have a great product, what we need/want is far more complex then what is available out there right now so what your product offers us now is a step ahead of anything else and I look forward to seeing what you guys add in 4.x. If you want anyone to suggest things or give feedback on options that you plan to add let me know. We run a broad spectrum gaming event and we require a very versitile system which we have put a lot of thought into but in the end could not afford to build our selves. So if I can pay someone a yearly subscription and they build it toward what we need, all the better for us.

Hi Evan,

We’re planning on improving the promo code discount functionality in future releases. Currently 3.x does allow for discounts to be applied in the cart, but as you know it discounts all eligible tickets in the cart. Before this, it didn’t allow discount codes in the cart at all without applying a hack to the cart. The hack would allow discounts to be applied, but it did not differentiate promo codes. Meaning a valid code in the system that was not eligible to be used for an event in the cart would still be applied as a discount. While the current version is an improvement to what was there before, it does not limit the discount to one ticket per transaction. That’s what were shooting for in 4.x.
