Deleting old registration after using Attendee Mover

Very excited to be using the Attendee Mover add-on. So far, things have worked nicely as expected, except for one thing.

We’ve moved a person, and their registration and the payment now show in the new event. But in the old event, their original payment still shows and that’s preventing us from trashing their original registration and therefore the system still shows the original registration taking up a place in the limit of 20 registrations.

Is there something we need to do to allow the original registration to be deleted?

Also, even though the old payment says cancelled, the fact that we can’t trash it makes it feel like the payment is being counted twice in the system… hopefully that’s not the case.

Hi Linda,

Normally when you create a registration in EE it is assigned to a transaction. The transaction links all of the payments together for any registrations that are assigned to it.

When you use the attendee mover it doesn’t create a new registration and transaction pair, it creates a new registration, assigns that new registration to the original transaction and cancels the ‘first’ registration.

What that means is the payment that applied earlier, still applies now as it’s the same transaction so its not 2 payments, but just one. You can see this a little better if you view the transaction for the above registrations, I’ve just ran through moving an registration and ended up with this – http://take.ms/M5CuG5

But in the old event, their original payment still shows and that’s preventing us from trashing their original registration and therefore the system still shows the original registration taking up a place in the limit of 20 registrations.

The original registration should now be set to cancelled, has yours been set to cancelled? (Grey status bar)

Only ‘Approved’ registrations take up spaces on the event, any other registration status does not apply to the ‘sold’ values within an event and therefor does not apply to your event.

Is there something we need to do to allow the original registration to be deleted?

You can’t delete the original registration currently, but it also should not apply to the event due to the above.
