Deleting Data from Previous Year Registrations

I am running Event Espresso 4.2.4.reg (Personal License) with WordPress 3.9.3. (I have not upgreaded Event Espress or WordPress as I’m afraid of losing what I have setup already (it works exactly how we need it to) My question is how do you eliminate all of the registrants and events from the previous year? We really don’t want to start from square one and rebuild everything, but don’t want to break anything either. We would like only the people that register for this years conference to be part of our export data. I remember when we first got Event Espresso that there was a version 4. something that we originally installed but it lacked something that was available with the 3.9.3 version – hence my reasoning for not wanting to upgrade.
Basically:

1) How do I eliminate previous year events and registrants?
2) Is there a strong reason why you would advise me to upgrade either event espresso or wordpress?

Hi Sue,

It turns out there isn’t a function in Event Espresso 4 that deletes only attendee data from a previous year. That said, the Registrations CSV reports can be done per event. This means that you can have only the people that register for this years conference to be part of your export data. You can make that report by viewing the registrations for the one event and then click the “Event Registrations CSV Report” button.

Re:

Not at this time, but that said eventually if you decide to update either WP or Event Espresso, you’ll need to update both. This is because WP 4.2 is compatible with Event Espresso 4.6 or greater, and Event Espresso 4.6 requires WP 4.0 or greater.

So basically the data will continue to accumulate in the database year after year after year? I would think there would at least be a script to run or something to take care of this. What if I delete last years events and create new ones, can I then somehow delete the registrants for last years events? Is the ability to delete the information in the database something that is in newer versions or being considered in future upgrades?

Hi Sue,

There is a script available in the newer version (EE4.6) that deletes everything (all events and registrations all at once).
