The one issue I have right now is that I don’t want any post/blog elements to my calendar page, just a static site showing just the calendar and nothing else. I have already set front page to “home” and post page to “blank” (a hidden unused page) in Reading settings. New to wordpress, is it possible to go into editor and eliminate all code related to comments? One more thing, I’m using WordPress as a offsite iframe embedded in my website. New member, I will be used only for EE calendar, because I like EE features. Phil

Hi,

If you edit that page and scroll down to the Discussion box, you can turn off comments there.

If that discussion box isnt there, go to the top right, where it says Screen Options, click that and then tick the Discussion tickbox. Then scroll down and change the settings.

Depending on the theme you are using it may still show a message that says Comments Are Closed or similar. Some themes show this, some dont.

Went to pages and edited the calendar page. Theme is twenty twelve.  No discussion box to turn off comments. Went to screen options and ticked the discussion box. then updated. Nothing, I’m sure it’s me, but this is going to be a long process. Is it possible I’m on the wrong page, there seems to be two home pages, very confusing.

Hi Phillip,

You’re almost there! After you check the discussion box in the screen options, there will be a Discussion box that appears near the bottom of the page editor. There will be two checkboxes that you can uncheck to remove the comment/trackback feature for the page. After you uncheck the two options in the Discussion box and save the page the comment box will no longer appear on your page.
