Default Messages Missing After Update

After updating event espresso to the new core the default messages are all missing. How can we I get them back.

Hi there,

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings.

Click the toggle to disable the messages system, wait a few seconds and click the toggle again – http://take.ms/xglBH

Are the messages now shown in the default list?
