1. We have multiple speakers to apply to event but different speakers for different events. Is it possible to add the Speaker Info using shortcodes where we can select which speaker to apply to which event, we only need the Speaker’s name and description.

2. In the description area fo the events these bagdes show up… Active, Upcoming and Expired. How can I change this text?

3. Is it possible to add a ‘View Cart button or icon’ to the header similar to an ecommerce site?

Hi there,

Not with shortcodes (at least not without creating your own) but for speakers and the like we have an add-on to do what I think you are trying to do, the People Add-on:

https://eventespresso.com/product/eea-people-addon/

You create speakers and then selects those ‘people’ on the event(s) they are associated with.

Does that not work for what you are trying to do?

2. In the description area fo the events these bagdes show up… Active, Upcoming and Expired. How can I change this text?

Do you want to change those strings site-wide or just at that specific location?

3. Is it possible to add a ‘View Cart button or icon’ to the header similar to an ecommerce site?

Are you using the Multi Event Registration add-on?

If so, you can create a link within your header using something like registration-checkout/?event_cart=view#checkout to direct users to the cart. Some themes do odd things with anchors so you may find you need to remove #checkout for it to work.

Or there is also a mini cart widget available within Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets.

Without the above add-on there isn’t a ‘cart’ as such so we don’t have a link to view registration checkout without clicking through to register.

You can use a filter like this:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/5da1f1d8882ffac6925a332a8911d73e

The first element in each array is singular, the second is plural.

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:
