Someone emailed me they are unable to regsister; after filling out form this error message appears: |
Hi there, The error is usually caused by caching, are you running any caching plugins on the site? If so clear the cache and temporarily de-activate caching, do the registrations work then? |

Hi Tony, |

Hello, Is your web host Go Daddy? If so, the caching may be the cause of the issue and we have a solution here (https://eventespresso.com/topic/incompatible-with-godaddy-managed-wordpress-hosting/). You can share a temporary login here and we’ll help you deactivate it: https://eventespresso.com/wp-login.php — |

Hi there, Please do not post passwords into the forums. I checked your website and there is a problem with caching there. We have a guide that shows how to correctly set up caching here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ If you need further help with deactivating the cache for Event Espresso pages, you can complete this form and support staff can get more specific information about how the caching is set up on your website: |

Hi Alice, The password you sent for your website was incorrect, but the SFTP information was correct. So we were able to delete Godaddy’s object-cache files. These files must not be added back in the future, or things will break again. Please let the website builder know that these caching files must not be used on websites that have Event Espresso. They were incorrect and when they said the problems were from Event Espresso. This all could have been avoided had they chose a recommended hosting plan, or at least fixed sooner had they read our documentation. |

Hi Josh, |
You’ll likely avoid future problems if your site gets moved to one of the recommended hosts. The potential scenario that’s something to be concerned about is if Godaddy adds those caching files back to your site then things will all of a sudden break again, with no warning. If you decide to stay on Godaddy hosting, someone will need to keep an eye out for those files getting added again. |

Okay, thanks. What are some of the recommended hosting sites to avoid this problem again? |
The recommended hosts are listed on our requirements page: |
