Custom Questions Not Exporting

I followed this guide: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2012/04/solution-for-missing-custom-questions-in-the-excel-reports/ but the database says “NULL” where it should.

When I export, the column heading is listed, but the information just simply isn’t there. This is vital for our website. Any ideas?

Hi,

What version of Event Espresso are you using? Is it just the custom questions that aren’t exporting or are there other issues?

I’m running the newest version of EE3 (3.1.36.4). The custom questions are the only thing not exporting. Even the column heading is output on export, just not the data along with it.

I’m not seeing any issues on my local test servers.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level and FTP details are appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for the login details.

I ran a quick test and I am a little confused. I registered a test attendee and their details saved correctly and exported correctly.

However it seems that the attendees you have attached to the Monday Lunch event do not have the correct custom questions, which is why it isn’t exporting, the answer isn’t there. Instead of the Lunch questions, they have the Class Sign up questions.

How did you register these users? What was the process? Did you swap question groups on this event after registering them?

I also encountered a fatal error when registering on your site

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /xxx/xxx/xxx/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/payment_page.php on line 24

(The X’s were added by me for security).

Has this file been modified?

So maybe I’m misunderstanding how Event Espresso works. I have four events listed. One for the actual event, and then three others for meals if people choose to purchase them. When I went in to export the meals, I noticed that your test registration exported normally. I’ve gone through and created multiple fake/test attendees, but they never export correctly. How did you get yours to register properly? I’ve never registered mine manually or anything. It is always done through the website.

I would like to have the “Class Sign Up” questions for the “Orlando 2015” event. And then have a custom lunch question for the other three events. That should work properly, correct?

On the payment_page.php file, I had edited at one point, but I no longer need the changes that I’ve made. I never received any kind of “fatal error” while registering, but I’ve reverted back to the original file anyway.

Again: Any ideas as to what you did differently while registering? Yours worked fine, while mine does not.

I figured it out, finally. I guess you have to check TWICE where you want the custom questions. You have to set it both as your primary and your secondary. Kind of confusing to me, personally, but it’s working now.

Thanks for the help!
