I need only the friendly optional name to show… the value is for behind the scenes info. I’m puzzled as to why this is done this way at all.

Hi Ryan,

I’m puzzled as to what you mean by friendly optional name and value. Can you explain a bit more about how you have this set up? If this is about the Description field displaying, it’s doing what it says it will do, which is display an optional description on the registration form. Some folks like to add the extra explanation next to the option value, but that’s an optional thing.

Ok, maybe I misunderstood that but in my case I need the readable/displayed value to be be ‘teacher’ for instance and then the value I use behind the scenes to be ‘persona_1’. Anyway to do this or do they have to be the same?

Yes what you can do is make that persona_1 text really, really small. So for example, if you’re using a radio button question type, you add something like this to your custom stylesheet:

.page .ee-question-option-desc{font-size:10pt; color:black}

.page .ee-radio-label-after{font-size:0pt;}

This way, only the description text will be visible on the front-end.
