Custom Question answers not display in registration email

Using EE4

I have several custom questions thati have added to the “personal information” group.

In the registration approved email message, I am using [question_list] and it display all questions, however the custom question answers are not displayed.

How can I display the custom answers in the registration email sent to registrants

Hi there Jane,

I tested this on a free event and an extra field that was added to the personal information question group did appear: http://cl.ly/image/1A2I2J2y3m1w

I also tested on a paid event and the information was shown:

Is your software up to date? The current version of EE4 is 4.2.5.

Hi,

Yes software is up to date.
Still having the same problem

This is within MESSAGES > ALL EVENTS > Registration Approved> Event admin.

[QUESTION] : [ANSWER] Within [QUESTION_LIST] brings out all the questions )even the custom questions, however no custom answers are exported to the email.

Hi,

I also cannot replicate this, my test questions and answers are being shown on both admin and registrant emails (EE 4.2.5).

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

Currently using EE 4.2.4.

Sorry we are unable to provide login details

I’ve created a new question group and added it to the registration form, still having the same problem with only the new questions being exported into the email and no answers being exported.

Is it possible to clone the site onto a development server and send us credentials to that one?

Hi, Unfortunately we can’t give out credentials as it contains some sensitive data.

Still having the same issues, after some investigation we found that the answers for the custom question with ID 11,12,13,13 are NOT written to the database table – adam_esp_answer .

I have attached some screenshots, custom questions showing the ID’s – 11,12,13 14

Hi Jane,

Thanks for those screenshots. Could you please try a registration through the WordPress admin?

WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Events. Then hover over the name of an event and click on Registrations. At the top of the screen, click on Add New Registration.

Then complete the registration and be sure to enter some information in the custom questions.

Is anything recorded in this registration?

Hi Lorenzo, I completed your process and YES!! it records the custom question answers!!

How can we implement a fix for regular users??

Please let me know if you have a fix for this bug please, I’m looking for the site to go live ASAP.

Hi Jane,

Thanks for running that test.

Something may be interfering with the registrations on the front end.

Could you try these steps:

In one tab open the WordPress Plugins page.

In another tab open the registration overview page (shows list of registrations) in the WordPress admin.

In another tab open any event page on the front end of the site.

Then in the first tab, deactivate all plugins and reactivate Event Espresso. Then reactivate one or two plugins.

Then in the event tab, begin and complete a registration. Then return to the registrations overview tab and refresh and click on the new registration. Are the custom question answers recorded?

If so, then activate a couple more plugins in the WordPress plugins screen and run another registration.

Repeat this process until the registrations stop recording the answers.

Let us know if this helps!

Hi Lorenzo, I deactivated all plugins and custom question answers are still not recorded from the frontend.

What else can we try?
