Connecting to Stripe

Hi
My client has a complex issue regarding their Event banking! We will be setting up 4 events but each Event has its own Bank Account. We are going to use Stripe, and I assume EE can only connect to one Stripe account per website, but do you know if there is anyway that each Event can take a ‘reference’ with it to Stripe so that they will know which Event it is for and so which account to transfer the money to?!

Alternatively, if we set up a WordPress multi-site on the one domain (i.e. each Event was in it’s own sub-directory with a WP and EE install) would we have to buy 3 EE licences or can one licence cover each sub-directory, then we could connect to a different Stripe account?!
Sorry, it’s a bit confusing!
Many thanks

(Running EE4 on latest WP version)

Sorry for the long wait!

Yes and no. It’s just in development and you could help test it out. You can use the Payment Methods Pro addon along with the branch of event espresso core that it works with. This addon allows you to create multiple payment methods of the same type (eg Stripe, using the button it adds), and you can set certain payment methods to only work with specific events (the addon’s plugin description gives some instructions).
Does that sound like it will fill your needs?
Are you familiar with using github?

Yes this might work. I know about github but have not used it yet so happy to try and great if we can test your new add-on.
Thanks

Hi
I have downloaded the two links within your Reply – 2 zip files. Are these plugins which I need to install and then configure via the WP admin or is it more technical than that?
Thanks

Hi Brad,

Those are both plugins yes.

One is a copy of Event Espresso with additional features to accommodate multiple instances of a payment gateway.

The other is an add-on that is in development, this allows you to create multiple instances of a specific payment method.

Both need to be installed via Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.

However because one is a copy of Event Espresso itself, you can not have the release version of EE and this development version activated at the same time, be sure to de-activate the release version before activating this one.

Are you working on a development site or live site currently?

It is highly recommend to test this on a development site first and not on your live site.

Hi
I have set up EE on the Live site behind the Live pages – I have used EE before so was happy doing this. But as you say, if the add-ons are still in development mode then it will be best to use back on our testing site.
Do I need to disable the EE licence on the Live site, or can I upload the development EE to our testing site at the same time as keeping EE active on the Live site?
Thanks

You do not need to disable the EE license on the live site. The important thing is you do not input the support license key on the dev site.
