Confirmation Email sent but no record of Attendee

I have had this happen on a couple of occasions, an attendee signs up and a confirmation email is generated but nothing is recorded in the Event Overview, I’ve also checked in the database and no details have been saved. What could be the cause of this?

Hi Mark,

Which table did you check in the database? We’re there gaps in the ID’s between rows? This will help us investigate.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for getting back to me, I checked the events_attendee table and there are no gaps. The attendee doesn’t exist on the date the order was placed. I can send you a dump of the database and the confirmation email if that helps?

Hi Mark,

It turns out there is a gap in the _events_attendee table. You’ll note there’s no record with an ID of 424. What actually happened there was the person that registered for the email that you got hit the back button before the registration was completed and ignored the warning about overwriting their previous registration.

The reason it does this is it prevents duplicating the registrations under the same conditions where the session hasn’t closed and the registrant hits the back button to edit something on the registration form. So essentially what happened here is one person was registering for two people, and ended up overwriting the first registration they submitted, by going back and editing the same registration form in the same session.
