Hi Ryan,

Is this on a specific event?

I’ve just registered onto the ‘Pre-Congress Cocktail Function’ and had no issues. http://d.pr/i/6aDX

For some odd reason the Pre-Congress Cocktail Function works, but as soon as you register for the Members and non members events it happens.

I have looked at the backend to see if anything changed there but its still the same.

Hi,

I also registered for the Registration fee for non-members event and it worked fine.

What browser are you using? Can you try clearing your cache?

hi

Im using Google Chrome, I have cleared the cahce twice and its still doing the same. I have tested the link also on Fire Fox aswell as Safari and its still doing the same to me.

I have asked another developer to test the link and it worked for the first time for him but if you want to register again or refresh the page, the button does not work again.

Unfortunately I’m still not running into any issues.

I’ve ran two registrations one after the other and had no issues.

One thing that does come to mind is that registrations must be ‘finalized’. In you instance you are using EFT, so users must click EFT and then the red writing http://d.pr/i/F0Hg

I have also tried NOT clicking this to leave the session open and then redoing a registration (this overwrites the previous one) but this did not cause the issue you mentioned.

Can you post step by step how to reproduce please?

so i open safari and enter the url.
i go to the registration page and choose Registration for members. and then view cart.
Then i choose how many people will attend and submit.
I enter the information and try to submit but i cant go to the payment page.

Is this because i have not yet updated the plugin.

I can reproduce this on your site (using the event ‘Registration for members’), but not locally.

Have you modified any of the templates within the core plugin folder?(wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/)

Just the css, and in the payment_page and the gateway_displays files can this be the problem.
I have add a new style in the wp-admin section, and one added a line in the themeroller.css, and in the other pages just two words.

It is possible yes.

I would recommend first backing up the site (files and DB):

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/

Copy any files you have modified within EE to wp-content/uploads/espresso/

Within there you should have (amongst others) /templates & /gateways.
Copy any modified templates into /templates and any gateways to /gateways.

Then update Event Espresso.

This gives us a level field to work on.

Any modified templates/files should be within /uploads/espresso/ as this allows you to test everything with the default config easily. (By renaming the templates/gatways folders or the espresso folder)

I see its working again. how will i go with the CSS style file i need to add. I have made a folder in the /uploads/espresso/templates/css/themeroller/new-sansor.

But it does not pick it up.

it is the css file i put in the templates folder.
and it does not work if i put it in the admin side.

and where you go to Event Template Settings there is this message on the bottom of the page:

Modifying your event listings and registration pages is easy. You just need to edit the appropriate files in the following location. For more information about customizing your template files, please follow this tutorial.

That appears correct.

Some files are not included in that list, the most common used are.

What is the original location of the CSS file you are editing?

Ryan R

January 7, 2014 at 7:53 am

it is in plugins/event-espresso/templates/css/themeroller/newsansor
i can see it in the admin section and use that style but they the problem returns.
i have tried to change one thats already there like le-frog and it seems not to work any more.

i see its the simplify-mer-attendee-page.js file in the uploads/espresso/templates. as soon as i add the files again it stop working again.

Where can i rename the Confirm and go to payment page, so it just says Confirm?

Rather than altering the code you’d be much better ‘translating’ that phrase to what you would like it to be.

You can do this via POEdit, or via the function/plugin mentioned here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/#plugins

So you be translating ‘Confirm and go to payment page’ to just be ‘Confirm’

This is likely likely to be over written and/or cause conflicts with updates.

Ryan R

so it better not to change the name then.

Sorry to check we are discussing the same thing it is the text within this button I am referring to http://d.pr/i/646K

If that is what you would like to change the above is the best method to do so. If not could you direct me to what you would like to change?

Ryan R

January 9, 2014 at 1:46 am

yes that the one i want to change.
Will this cause any conflicts in the future if i change it?

Dean

Hi,

It’s unlikely to cause issues especially if the language files are in uploads/espresso/languages, but it is possible (if we change the wording for example).

We recommend using language files for changes like these simply because they rarely change except to be added to.

ok kwl will do that. Thanks for the help and quick response.
