Hi,

Running into an issue with Authorize.net and EE3/EE4. Our checkout process requires users to enter their company name, this is stored on wordpress end, but the value is not getting passed to Authorize.net and the confirmation email from Authorize.net is also missing the information. This issue existed on EE3, I have upgraded to EE4 and issue still exists.

Any thoughts?

Hi Dana,

Event Espresso does not send addition information to Authorize.net so the Company Name question you currently have setup within EE will not be sent to Authorize.net

Is ‘Company’ currently a required form field within your Auth.net account? If so you could removed required flag which will allow your transactions to work.

Log into auth.net, go to Account -> Settings -> Payment Form -> Form Fields.

You’ll find a list of checkboxes showing all the options available. If ‘Company’ (or others) are set to a required field uncheck the required checkbox and Submit the changes.

Then re-test a payment through EE and it should then process correctly.

I have created a ticket to allow the Auth.net payment method to send custom questions with the payment request within a future version of Event Espresso. (Unfortunately I can not comment on if/when this will be included)

Could I possibly change the code? Let me know. I could use some guide. Thanks!

Hi Dana,

Apologies for the delay.

I’ve been looking into adding this field to the AIM gateway and seems it is not a simple task (or I’m currently trying to include the custom questions incorrectly)

As previously mentioned I have created a ticket to allow custom questions to be included within the gateway. This will likely be via a filter hook and if so would be the best way to achieve this.

Did the above workaround not work?

I’ll discuss this with the team and see what other ideas we can come with in the mean time, then update this thread.

Hi Dana,

A recent version of Event Espresso 4 includes an option to set the questions that are asked during the payment step of registration checkout. It looks like this for Authorizenet AIM which is the onsite payment option:

You can see the changelog here:

Be sure to backup your WordPress site (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/) before making changes.

If you have any other questions about Event Espresso 4, then please create a new support post in our support forums:

Thanks!
