Choose both a ticket type and a date/time?

I’m guessing that the answer is “no” but, since no one works harder at being lazy than me, I figured I’d ask…

I want registrants to be able to choose both a ticket type and an event date/time.

Here’s the scenario: We are operating a testing center on behalf of an industry association and the testing center is open Fridays with an AM session (9-11) and a PM session (1:30-3:30). I’ll enter each date and session as separate datetimes and would like the candidate to choose which date and session to attend.

BUT…

There are three exams that the candidate can choose to take. Let’s call them A, B, and C (because, you know, I’m creative like that). Each exam would be a separate ticket type

Here’s what I am hoping – the candidate comes to the testing “event”, chooses the date/session they want to attend and then the exam/ticket.

Is that possible?

For what it’s worth, I am actually more concerned about the user’s experience than the amount of effort on my part. So if it’s not feasible to do it this way, then I’ll bite the bullet and set up a different event for each exam (there are actually about 14 different exams).

AS always, thanks!

Additional Info:

The separate event for each exam is an “okay” option but, potentially, I could oversell the exam room this way. I have 25 seats in the exam room and, by being able to select both a session and an exam on the same event page, would allow the total number of seats to not exceed 25.

But a separate event page for each exam type could result in 10 seats for A, 10 seats for B, and 7 seats for C, totaling 27 candidates in a room capable of holding 25.

Granted, the risk is really low that we would oversell on any given day but, if we reached the limit for the room, I would have to go into each exam type and change the status to sold out.

Resolved

What I did was to make each testing date a separate event (and will do it every two weeks instead of every week) and each exam type as a separate ticket. That ensures the room won’t be oversold.

Then I’ll just duplicate the event for two to three months out and list the dates in a table. Step one for the candidate will be to choose the date (aka “event”) and then choose the exam (aka “ticket”) for that date.

Ummm… thanks for letting me use your support forum to work this out. LOL

Lol, welcome to the thinking forum 😉

Nice job finding a solution, the way you have it is currently the best way to set EE up for that event type.
