Checking permissions

We have a very restricted user to scan barcodes. I have removed almost all capabilities except for those with the ‘ee’ prefix. When scanning with a barcode scanner while logged in as the user, it works, however, when scanning a QR code with my iPad or phone, it does not and gives the error message “You are not allowed to checkin registration ID <ID>”. If using an admin account on the devices, it works. Even if I try to click the Checkin button after scanning, the user is denied.

Hi there,

Which specific version of Event Espresso are you running?

Does the role have all of the ee_ prefix capabilities?

I’ll recreate the role on a test site to see what is happening but need to know the capabilities set on it to match it up.

We’re running version 4.10.45.p on WordPress 6.1.1. Yes, the user has all capabilities with ee_ prefix.

Hmm, strange.

So I’ve been digging into this some but I can’t reproduce it.

I’m using a test account with the following capabilities:

ee_edit_checkin
 ee_edit_checkins
 ee_edit_others_checkins
 ee_read_checkin
 ee_read_checkins
 ee_read_contact
 ee_read_contacts
 ee_read_event
 ee_read_events
 ee_read_others_checkins
 ee_read_others_default_tickets
 ee_read_others_events
 ee_read_others_payment_methods
 ee_read_others_registrations
 ee_read_registration
 ee_read_registrations
 read

So not ‘all’ capabilities but I’m still able to check in registrations through both the Android and iOS apps.

Can you send me temp login details so I can view the request and see what is happening?
