Change names of sub-registrants in a multiple person registration transaction

I have an event that I initially didn’t turn on “Questions for Additional Registrants.” I have had a couple of teams sign up with multiple people under one registration so all of the people in that registration have the name of the “main registrant.”

When I go to the registration list, it shows that it was a multiple-person registration: 1/6, 2/6, 3/6, 4/6, etc. but all of them show the first registrant’s name.

I even go to the Transaction page, and I can see 6 rows for each registrant, and mousing over each row I can see they have different but consecutive _REG_ID numbers, but if I change one of the rows, all 6 of them change to that name.

How do I edit other 5 individual registrations in that transaction so that I have an accurate list of attendees when it comes time to dump the list to a spreadsheet and print tickets, name badges, attendee lists, etc.

Hi there,

When you edit a registration that isn’t the primary (2/6, 3/6 etc) do you see a ‘Create Contact’ button in the top right?

Clicking that button will create a new contact and assign it to the registration. Note the new contact will be a duplicate of the current one, so initially it will look like you are editing the original contact, but try adding the registration count to the end of the name and then view the registration list again, it should only change on that single registration.

Hmmm. Not very intuitive to click CREATE CONTACT when you’re looking at a contact…

But that took care of it! Thanks Tony!

Just to clarify, your not looking at a contact, you’re getting at a registration which has a contact assigned to it 🙂

The create contact button creates a new contact and assigns it to the current registration you are editing.

But that took care of it! Thanks Tony!

Awesome, I’m glad it worked for you.
