Change Default Page Template for New Events

Sorry if this is answered somewhere else and I couldn’t find it, but the closest I think I came to this topic in the forums was this one: https://eventespresso.com/topic/change-post-template-for-events/

I’m looking to change the default page template on every new event I create to a custom template my theme has that adds a specific event sidebar. Can you tell me what I might need to edit to do that? I am using a child theme and have other EE templates updated so I’m familiar with the process if that’s what is needed.

Hi there,

It sounds like you just need to create a single-espresso_events.php template from your custom page template so that EE events will be output using that template by default.

However, you mentioned you’ve already edited EE templates so I would assume this is something you are already familiar with and guess I may be misunderstanding your question.

Are you already using a single-espresso_events.php template?

How do you currently select the custom template you created for EE events?
