Category Page not working

Hello,

I added a new event, and when I go to the event-category it says “nothing found”. I’ve tried creating a new category as a child of the original as well, but it seems the page doesn’t work anymore. When I go to the category itself in the administration pages, it only shows 1 event (a previous event.) This makes it appear as though the event is not being associated to the event.

Hi Melanie,

I’ve tried creating a new category as a child of the original as well, but it seems the page doesn’t work anymore.

EE categories are not hierarchical so I’m not sure I understand this, can you explain further or possibly include a screenshot so I can see, you’ll need to host the image and add the link here, we have a few options here:

Hi Tony,

The categories have the option to select a parent as shown here, so I’m not sure how they aren’t hierarchical. (http://www.theheartofawoman.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/hierarchy.png) Either way though, that’s not the core of my issue. The big problem is either I can’t add to the category, or the category page is broken. I’m not sure how to verify which is the issue. I’m using the automatically generated page that used to work in the past (earlier this week.)

Hi, they are not hierarchal even if it may appear so due to the parent & child arrangement.

If you add a new category through the event editor called test and assign it to an event, then does that page work, or does it also show a not found message?

This would be the URL with the test above:

Hi Lorenzo,

I added a new category ‘test’ as you suggested to my event, and as you can see if you click on the link you crafted, I get ‘Nothing Found.’

Hi Melanie,

I found an issue with event category pages and I’ve reported that to our development team. I’ll update this support post on Monday once they have had a chance to review the report.
