Hello there,

I was advised to use a captcha on the payment gateway by unsure how to add it.

I am currently using the Bambora Gateway add-on and Paypal Standard (shortly moving to express).

Would would I go about adding a captcha to minimize fraudulent charges?

Hi there,

We don’t use RECAPTCHA on the payment options step but you can enable it on the ticket selector and/or registration form, which means it should prevent registrations before they get to the payment options step.

EE4 uses ‘Invisible’ reCAPTCHA which requires V2 keys.

If you log into the reCAPTCHA admin console (you may need to create an account):

https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create

Create a v2 key (call it whatever you prefer in the console, I just use ‘EE4 Example Key’)

Select ‘Invisible reCAPTCHA badge’

In domains type in your domain with no scheme or anything else, you haven’t posted any links to your site so I won’t post it here but you want example.co.uk and not https://www.example.co.uk in that section.

Accept the terms and conditions and create the key –

You’ll get a site and secret key. Add those in EE in Event Espresso -> Registration Form -> Reg Form Settings.

Check the checkbox to protect the Ticket Selector and/or Registration form and save.

Then in a private/incognito window register onto an event, when you get to the registration form, check for reCAPTCHA there.
