Can't get it to change from a recurring event to a single event.

I have five events, but each one is separate and different.They are not recurring events. One of my events somehow got the recurring event box checked and it won’t take no for an answer. I have tried everything, even rebooting, I will check no, and then when I update, it’s back to yes. I am also having trouble with the price sticking. I have two events that say 0.00 for the price. I had trouble with that before, and some how got it to work, but I am doing the same things I did before to get it to work, and its not happening. Thank you! (www,miraclepromotions.com)

Hi there,

If the one event is showing as a recurring event, it will still function as a single event.

Does the price get set to 0.00 when you view the event while being logged in to the website? If so, it sounds like the Member’s add-on is active. In which case, you can deactivate the Member’s add-on (it’s labeled as the WP User Integration plugin on the plugins manager screen) or set a Member price in the event editor.

One other thing that may help: It looks like the early discount field has the $ in it. That should be removed so that the early discount will work as expected. Right now it’s saying ” $895.00 (including $$895.00 early discount).” This will cause the early discount to not calculate properly.

Thank you Josh. I deactivated the members price plug in, and now I can’t get any price to show. I have a regular price and an early bird price. Have not been able to figure out how to show both. So I have just entered the early bird and will manually change it to the regular price on the deadline date. I have not been able to figure out how to use the early bird discount, so it just shows that the discount is the same as the early bird price. Is there a better way? Thank you again.

It looks like you need to remove the $ from the early bird price. May I ask what the discount for early registration should be for one of these events?

thank you Josh, I thought you might be off for the evening, so stepped away from the computer.I did take the dollar signs off of all the events at your suggestion. The price for three of the events is $395.00, Early Bird price is $350.00.the 10 day retreat is $995.00 Early Bird of $895.00. I tried a percentage, and that was even worse, it said cost was 00.00 with early bird pricing of $50.00. I am sure having trouble with getting the price to stick on the Chicago Event I am at a loss as to what to do. Thank you.

I just took everything out of the Early Registration field on each event, and finally got the prices to publish. Do you think I should just not mess with that? Thank you.

Hi Kathryn,

Can you try entering 395.00 in the Standard Pricing field;
Then enter 45.00 for the Early Registration Discount amount?

This will calculate out to an Early Registration price of $350.00

Thank you! I tried entering $395.00 and the putting the $45.00 in the early discount box, and it came out ‘$395.00 (including $45.00 early discount).’ It did not automatically post $350.00. Then I entered $350.00 and it came out with ‘$350.00 (including $45.00 early discount.)’ I think that should be good enough, it certainly is more explanatory than it was. And the price shows now, where I was having trouble with getting it to stick before. If there’s a better way, let me know :-). Thanks again!

Yes, there is a better way. You need to remove the $ that you are entering into the price fields.
