Can't edit Events or Payment Gateway

We recently updated to the latest plugin and everything is showing up, except the event details and payment gateway info. We can see our events, just can’t edit them. And when a user tries to register, they aren’t directed to PayPal.

Hi Justin,

We went to take a look and when we go to log in to the WordPress admin, and when we tried to FTP in, the server responded with an incorrect password message.

Can you verify the passwords you sent via the form work, then re-send the redeem a support token form with an update? Thanks.

Hi there,

The update you sent had the same passwords, and they still do not allow us to log in. Can you try changing the passwords, then re-send?

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

Looks like your site is missing more than a few files in the Event Espresso plugin. I’ll try FTP’ing up the missing files, which should fix things for you.

On second thought, that’s not really the right way to fix this, since I don’t have network admin access (I can’t really deactivate EE).

Do you have a network admin account? If so, can you go to the Network Admin > Plugins, then deactivate Event Espresso, delete it, then upload a fresh copy you download from your account page?

If you’d prefer that support staff do the above, we’ll need access to the Network Admin.

Hi Justin,

I went ahead and re-installed Event Espresso and the event editor is functioning as expected now.

One thing you can do to avoid this in the future is you can ask your host to increase the max_upload_size PHP setting. When I tried to upload the Event Espresso plugin via the WordPress plugin uploader it threw an error and said the max_upload_size limit had been reached. So I ended up FTP’ing the plugin files up.

The other thing that you can do to help ensure the PayPal gateway functions as expected is make sure the WP SpamShield plugin isn’t blocking the communication from PayPal. On any of the sites where you use PayPal IPN, you can disable the feature in WP Spamshield that blocks the communication from PayPal to your site by going to Settings > WP-SpamShield, then check the box that says “Disable anti-spam for miscellaneous forms.”
