Cancelled ticetks still present in messages and stats

I used attendee mover for 2 tickets, so 2 tickets are now cancelled and there are two new tickets.

However in available tickets these cancelled tickets are counted in stats. These numbers are correct in Update event stats.

The second and more serious is that these cancelled tickets are still present in payment reminder messages (and maybe also others). Total sum to be paid is correct, but it is very misleading.

See printscreens for details

Hi,

The registrations that have cancelled status remain to help clarify the original registration was cancelled. If you prefer those do not remain you can move them to the trash after they’ve been cancelled.

Understand. Can I trash them everytime? Even if they were already paid?

However counting them into one stats and not another one as in printscreens looks like an error.

They aren’t paid anymore as they have been cancelled, so yes you can trash them.

However counting them into one stats and not another one as in printscreens looks like an error.

They aren’t counted in any additional stats, the ‘limit’ value you have set to 14 is for ‘Sold’ registrations (Registrations with a stats of Approved), you could have 200+ registrations on an event and only 14 of them actually have sold/paid tickets.

So the stats here: https://i.imgur.com/D99b1ua.png

Show all of your registrations on specific tickets, cancelled registrations are still registrations so they count.

Break down the commonly used registration statuses and list the registrations count for that status, there are currently no Cancelled regs listing there, but you can add it with a small snippet of code:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/ab2e83e9f7718de2346774d61c2cf74a

Add the second function to a custom functions plugin:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

(Add them both to include a cancelled and all registrations count – http://take.ms/s8ClP )

Note that at some point we may add additional counts into core, meaning you would end up with doubles, you just remove the function from the site and let core add it for you to fix that.

Nope, I cannot trash them anymore, see printscreen – https://imgur.com/a/MFNJmY7.

Understand, but I still think it is misleading.

Thank you for custom function. It is amazing how EE can be extended.

There is one more situationn with these cancelled tickets:

Yesterday 9:50 I applied payment on this transcation and everything went well except really confusing messages – payment received and registration approved messages to primary registrant were ok, but there were also two other messages to registrant announcing that the tickets were cancelled. It is really confusing.

Ok, so the problem there is any registration assigned to a transaction that has payments assigned to it, will remove the trash link and display the padlock.

However, for those cancelled registrations you can still trash them, check the checkbox next to Reg 33 and 34, then at the top of the list in the bulk actions section, select trash and click apply.

Understand, but I still think it is misleading.

We have to be careful not to bombard users with information, theres a lot of info we could include in those pages but the problem is, it just becomes a wall of text,

So we include the stats that are essential to run the event:

Approved regs – the number of sold tickets.
Pending Payment regs – the number of tickets that could possibly still apply to the event.
Not Approved regs & Waitlist regs – the regs that likely require admin attention before the event.

Unless you’re getting huge numbers of cancelled registrations (which you can spot in the reg list for the event), then most people wont need to know they have say 4 cancelled registrations for the event to run (if you have 4 ‘spaces’, you’ll have 4 less reg approved regs), so that value will be considered clutter by most.

In short we try to provide the ‘right’ info, rather than all of the info, everywhere (I say that because its possible to find those numbers elsewhere already).

Thank you for custom function. It is amazing how EE can be extended.

You’re most welcome and we try our best to make sure that most of EE can be customized, sometimes its just not possible, but we make sure we have hooks whenever we can.

Hmm, ok.

Did you move the registrations shortly before the payment was applied?

I can’t reproduce triggering the canceled registration emails when applying a payment so far, so I’m wondering if those messages already queued in the messages system and then applying the payment triggered them to generate and then send.

If not can you post some more details of the steps you took to trigger the problem?
