I was wondering if there was a way to show the emails that have been triggered when a user registers for an event?
I’d also appreciate being pointed into the right direction on how to find out exactly when each of the email types are sent out. That is, if an event is set as approved, not approved or pending payment, what are the exact rules which depend on when emails are sent to registrants? What is the workflow?
Lastly, could you explain what ‘override custom’ means on an email template?
Apologies if this is in the documentation somewhere, I wasn’t able to find it if it was.
Message types can also have different recipients
For example, with the registration approved message, a notification is sent to the registrant/attendee and then the event admin (event author).
The names of the message templates describe the action that occurs. Here are some examples:
Registration approved – goes out when a registration is complete. If a registration is free, then it goes out immediately.
Registration pending payment – used for offline payment methods like invoice and check. It will also be used if a registrant starts a registration and try to pay via PayPal but changes their mind — this is sent within an hour.
Payment Reminder – this can be triggered from the transaction details screen if a balance is due. For example, a registrant selects to pay via invoice which is an offline payment method. You could sent a reminder and they could pay via a different method.
The override option means that template should be used regardless of if any custom templates are setup for any events:
