Hi. I am in need of a plugin that asks at least one question that then gives a price for the event based upon the reply. Will EE do that? I guess I am asking if there is conditional options available and tied to event pricing… Also,

Hello Audrea,

We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso.

Event Espresso does not have Conditional question features at this time. It might be possible to use Gravity Forms to display certain events (via shortcode) depending on the answer they choose. I haven’t tested this, but I am thinking outside the box on how this might work.

Ok, I chose QuoForm over Gravity Forms. QuoForm does used conditional questions… Maybe I can contact the plugin and ask if this is something possible… It’s such a robust plugin, I wouldn’t doubt it could do it. Thanks!

I’ll ask my other question in a new thread. Thanks

Awesome. I spoke with a twitter friend yesterday evening and she stated that she uses shortcodes in conditional questions with Gravity Forms. QuoForm may do it as well.

Out of curiosity, how would your questions be set up? I’m interested in seeing what you come up with.

Okay. Here is what I’m trying to do and maybe there is a better way…

We are a fee only financial firm and are planning to teach some classes. We are charging for those classes but don’t want to allow competitors to come and us not know we are teaching a broker, etc what they should already know. We want to protect our material as much as possible. So it was our idea that we would offer the class at a discount to general public however IF that person was a financial person, they would have to legally answer a question that they were or were not a broker or financial person prior to registration. (They’d be really stupid to lie). But if they did answer that they were a financial person then the price would auto change to full price for them. That’s where I thought a conditional question might be an option. However if there is a better way to implement this, I’m all ears! Thanks!

Hi Audrea,

I think conditional questions should do the trick. Are you having difficulty figuring it out? I’m not familiar with QuForms.

No, I understand QuoForms fine… It is easy to setup conditional questions. I just don’t know how to integrate it with the event expresso so that those questions are asked and a ticket price is generated based upon the answers.

I’m having fun thinking about this.

I have an idea. You can create the questions, and at the end of the “questionnaire” display the price (and maybe a few details) based upon their answers. You could then use a shortcode (with Multiple Event Registration active) like [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”] that will display a button for them to click through to register for the event.

I hope I’m making sense.
