Can a single ticket select two datetimes?

I’d like to set-up registration for a three day event. Attendees have the option to attend all three days, any two days, or a single day only. I set up four different datetimes — one for all three days, then one for each individual day. If the ticket limit is set to one, when I try to register I can only select one datetime. Is there any way around this? To make it easier to track registrations, I’d like to avoid having people answer what days they’d like to attend by answering a question on their registration form. Please let me know if this can be done. I’m using EE 4.8.35.p. Thanks!

Hi Deborah,

To set this up you would want 3 datetimes and more ticket options.

You can think of a datetime as an ‘instance’ of an event, so a 3 day event can have 3 datetimes (one for each day)

Tickets grant access to specific datetimes they are assigned to.

So you want a 3 one day tickets:

Day 1
Day 2
Day 3

If you want to offer a discount for booking multiple days you can create other tickets to do that, for example a ‘3 Day Pass’ ticket that is assigned to ALL of those datetimes.

So you set your Day 1 ticket to only apply to datetime 1 – http://take.ms/KI4Wi

Day 2 only applies to datetime 2 – http://take.ms/hYsYa

Day 3 to Datetime 3 – http://take.ms/qiBkH

3 Day Pass to all datetimes – http://take.ms/vfJhb

That allows you to monitor all limites across the datetimes, allowing for individual and multi date bookings. If a single datetimes sells out, the 3 day pass will no longer be available (as all of the datetimes its assigned to are not all available)

Is that what you are looking for?

Thanks for your reply, Tony. I guess I should have framed my question a little better. I understand how to apply different datetimes to different tickets. I set up four tickets — one for the whole 3-day event, and one for each individual day. Where I’m having a problem is I’d like people to be able to select any two days they can attend, if they can’t make it for all three. So I guess a better way to ask my question would be can a person select more than one ticket per registration? I don’t want to have it so people need to register two times if they can make it for two of the three days. The only solution I see is to make it a question on the registration form — asking what days they can attend. Is there another way of doing this where I don’t have to manually track registrations by day?

Hello,

The restriction for selecting a single ticket via the radio button is from the maximum tickets setting in the top right area of the event editor.

Reverse the steps in this video (e.g. increase from 1 to an appropriate number): http://cl.ly/12303N2M1z15

Then go to each ticket option and click on the gear icon (advanced options) and set a minimum of 0 and then an appropriate maximum. Then save changes to the event.
