Answers Not Showing for Multiple Event Purchases

From the Admin I can only access the answers to questions if the customer only bought one event in the transaction. I have a clean install of EE, WP 3.8, no third-party plug-ins. I have even deactivated all EE plugins except core and MER and still have the problem.

Hi Michael,

Let’s try to verify whether it’s really a bug or not. Can you go the attendee record in the admin and look over to the top of the right column? You should see links to the attendee records for the other events that are tied to this multi-event registration. When you click on those links do you see the answers to the questions for the other events?

I only have a question for one event. (I will add a test question on another event, test it, and get right back to you.) In addition to not having the info available from the admin, it isn’t in the exported data except for the single event transactions.

I can give you temporary access to my admin if it helps.

There seems to be a relationship between the Quantity of an event available/allow group, “Full registration information” and perhaps “Additional attendee Question Groups”.

The documentation is scarce on “Full registration information”. Does that mean Questions, too?

I may have found the combination that works and I’ll need to see if that is stable.

So maybe less a bug and more a documentation issue. (User error is not possible, right?)

In the meantime, only the t-shirts are available in multiple quantities and everything else is restricted to just 1. So I may to use the multiple prices option to get the t-shirt size (that was my question/answer) and just set the prices all the same.

I removed “Bug Report” from the title as this is a configuration issue. A lot of Dog and Pony but satisfied. I do like the workaround of using the Price “name” to get the same information as it is reported in the attendee report.

Allow groups is a separate option. If it’s set to Yes, and there is a max group quantity of more than one, then the event will allow groups.

If you want to ask each member of the group which size t-shirt, then you’ll also need to seledt the Full Registration information option and check the appropriate question group for the event questions for attendees:

IN a multi event purchase wthat contains a group, if you don’t ask the question of additional attendees by setting to Full Registration Information then you don’t get the answer to the question for the primary attendee posted to the database.

There is some relationship with how MER handles simulating a Shopping Cart that is causing this. Since there is a workaround of setting to Full then no real problem. In EE 4 will there be a true shopping cart?

Note: My reasoning for not collecting the info for additional attendees is that the purchaser is the only true attendee. Think buy multiple tickets for repeat admissions to a single event. I did not want the user to have the ability to specify a different answer to the question.

Event Espresso4 will get an update to Multi Event Registration, but there are not plans to build an e-commerce type cart. That said, EE4 has the ability to sell multiple tickets for repeat admissions (we call them datetimes) to a single event.
