Hi, need help on the issue said.

Wordpress version 3.8.4
EE version 4.3.2, recently upgraded from 3.1.36.5
Website link: hrmagazine.com.hk

on Debug mode it shows this:
Fatal error: Call to a member function is_espresso_page() on a non-object in /…/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/CPTs/EE_CPT_Strategy.core.php on line 310

Appreciate it =)

Hi Paul,

When you activated EE4.3.2 did you run through migrations or did this error appear as soon as it was activated?

Have you attempted to update to EE4 previously on this install?

Hi Tony, yes I run the migration with no error. This problem only occur when EE4 is activated. Previously I upgraded my EE3 to version 3.1.36.5p and then install 4.3.2 and migrate the database.

FYI, I still have 3.1.36.5p installed but not activated.

Hi,

Was Event Espresso installed through WordPress Plugins or manually through SFTP or FTP?

Hi Lorenzo, it was installed through WordPress Plugin page, not FTP.

Hi,

Could you try temporarily deactivating all plugins and reactivate only Event Espresso?

Hi Lorenzo, i found the culprit. The plugin responsible is “permalink editor”. EE4 is now working ok, wonder why it clash with the other plugin, even though EE3 works fine with it…

Thanks for letting us know Paul.

EE3 events are not custom post types and did not use permalinks in the same way a post would.

EE4 events are custom post types and use Permalinks in the same way posts do.

Currently I’m not sure what the conflict is but have created a ticket for us to investigate and see if there is anything we can do.

In the meantime I would advise against using that plugin.

Ok Tony, thank you for the follow-up. I am temporarily disabled the permalink editor plugin, but I would appreciate if this can be fix so we can use the editor again.

Hi Paul,

Is this the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/permalink-editor/ ?

If so, that plugin has not been updated since 2011. It is possible that the plugin itself is causing the issues rather than Event Espresso.

If that is not the plugin in question, please advise.
